With the 2023 season now drawing to a close as of March 19th, we want to take the opportunity to thank the groups of families, friends and workplaces that made it to the track during this short season.

Ice Gokarting FAQ

GoKarting newbies and racing pros alike are sure to enjoy the challenges of ice karting.

But be forewarned: This is an extreme activity!

Boasting 460cc engines, our karts equipped with carbide studded tires are NOTHING like the karts you might have ridden at fairgrounds before.

First, we ask that customers plan for their visit to last approx one hour to cover getting kitted out, safety briefing, track time (20mins), warm up etc.

Cost per driver is $79.97

We are in Stillwater, MN at in the “carnival area” of the Washington County Fairgrounds.

You can find us on Google maps, or you can take the Stillwater blvd entrance to the fairgrounds.

As you do so, you will find the track on the right side as you enter the gates.

We are prebook only at this time. No walkups please.

2023 Season is kicks off on the weekend of Feb 10th.

The season is pretty short, somewhere between four to six weeks.

Bookings usually fill in a matter of days once they open, so once you know your dates we recommend you book ASAP

For 2023 we expect our core days to be Thrs to Sunday with hours as follows:

Thursday: First session starts at 5PM with last session at 8PM

Friday: First session is at 5PM with last session at 9PM.

Saturday: First session at Midday and last session at 9PM

Sunday: First session at Midday and last session at 830PM

Other hours and times may be available by appointment, please contact us.

Prebooking is strongly recommended as walk-ups will be very limited.

First and foremost, drivers must be able to reach and competently operate the controls on the karts.

With that said, the minimum age is 12 years old and drivers must also be a minimum height of 4′ 10″.

A safety briefing is given before your session where you can also ask any questions you may have.

Of course!

We offer larger groups the opportunity to book the track and facility exclusively, contact us with your needs and we will create a custom event for you.

Dress warm and dress dry as if you are going snow tubing or snowmobiling.

Waterproof gloves, snow pants and a very warm jacket are essential.

Full face DOT (Or equivalent) helmets are required along with goggles.

We have sanitized helmets for those that need them at no extra charge.

Karting on Ice in the Media

About Epic Kart Racing

Epic Kart Racing is a family owned business based in Minnesota.

Using our experience in the “regular” gokarting industry, our goal is to craft unique karting experiences that are super fun for everyone, but still challenging for seasoned racers.

In December 2019 we floated the idea of Karting on Ice to the people of Minnesota via social media.
The reaction was incredible with over 2million views on our intro video of which over 2000 people signed up for the early access email list.

We were on our way…. or so we thought.

It turned out that even with our experience and connections in karting, securing a suitable location along with required permits and insurance was going to be an uphill battle with a few false starts.

Fast forward to early February 2021 (It’s OK to skip 2020, right?) with everything locked-in, we moved in to Washington County Fairgrounds. We managed to squeeze two weekends of running before the season ended.

Jan to March 2022 saw our first full season of operation which combined with a flurry of media attention lead to us making a series on on-the-fly changes to keep up with demand.

2023 saw the project take some big leaps with an extended 1600ft track spanning a variety of bends, electronic timing, kart performance upgrades and more.

Watch this space (Or join the early access list) to get an exclusive look into what we have planned for 2024.
